Friday (ARK Music Factory, 2011)
Friday was written by L.A. music producers Clarence Jey and Patrice Wilson and released as American singer Rebecca Black’s debut single in 2011. It was labelled as the “worst video ever made” and remains a popular “bad song” and became an overnight sensation. The original YouTube video was removed in June 2011, due to legal disputes between ARK Music and Black, after amassing over 166 million views. It was re-uploaded in September 2011. There have been numerous parody videos and remixes as well as numerous covers by real artists and comedians. It’s the kind of song that actually makes you hate Friday and music.
