Maria Maria Santana featuring the Product G&B (Arista, 2000)
In April 2000, Maria Maria finally made it to the top of Billboard’s Hot 100. It stayed there for 10 weeks. At the 2000 Grammys, Maria Maria won a Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal (The Product G&B did not receive a Grammy for their performance.) The single was a huge success, but what happened to the Product G&B?
The Product G&B were an R&B duo — Sincere (David McRae) and Money Harm (Marvin Moore-Hough). They were associated with Wyclef Jean’s Refugee Camp. After the success of Maria Maria they continued to release music, though they never made an impact on the Hot 100, they did score minor hits on other charts, particularly the dance chart. Cluck Cluck went to #13 on the dance charts. In 2011, Sincere joined up with rapper Mike Street to form the rock band Guitars N Bandanaz. In May 2013, The Product G&B reformed and have had success in Europe. Currently, they are touring Europe and concentrating their efforts there.
