The Betty Hutton Show (CBS, 1959-1960)
This CBS sitcom was also known as Goldie as Betty Hutton starred as Goldie Appleby, a showgirl turned manicurist. After one of her millionaire customers (David White) dies, Goldie learns that he left her his entire $60 million dollar fortune — and his three children (Gigi Perreau, Peter Miles and Dennis Joel). The Betty Hutton Show was sponsored by General Foods’ Post Cereals. It only aired for one season, from October 1, 1959 until June 30, 1960 and produced 30 episodes. Though Hutton was a popular actress at the time, her show was up against the hit ABC sitcom, The Donna Reed Show and didn’t quite find an audience.
