Quincy, M.E. (also called Quincy) is an American mystery medical drama television series from Universal Studios that aired on NBC from October 3, 1976, to May 11, 1983. Jack Klugman stars in the title role as a Los Angeles County medical examiner who routinely engages in police investigations. Quincy, M.E. was inspired by the book Where Death Delights by Marshall Houts, a former FBI agent, the show also resembled the earlier Canadian television series Wojeck, broadcast by CBC Television. Quincy’s character is loosely modeled on Los Angeles’ “Coroner to the Stars” Thomas Noguchi. In total, Quincy, M.E. ran for 8 seasons, from October 3, 1976 through May 11, 1983 and 148 episodes were produced.
