LeToya (Capitol, 2006)
LeToya is the debut studio album by American R&B singer and former Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett, released by Capitol Records on July 25, 2006 in the United States. The album spawned three singles: Torn (peaking at #31 on the Hot 100 and #35 in the UK), She Don’t (peaking at #17 on the R&B chart; it missed out on hitting the Hot 100 as it peaked at #2 on the Bubbling Under chart, meaning it would have peaked at #102 on the Hot 100) and Obvious (peaked at #2 on the Bubbling Under, just missing hitting the Pop chart). The album was the first solo release from LeToya following her departure from her former group, Destiny’s Child, of which she was a founding member. The album garnered mostly positive reception from music critics, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 (the album chart). It also peaked at #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop Album chart. It was certified Platinum in December 2006.
