The Alkaline Diet (or alkaline ash or alkaline acid diet) requires you to cut out meat, dairy, sweets, caffeine, alcohol and artificial and processed foods to consume more fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds. Though the diet will probably bring upon some weight loss, human bodies are incredibly efficient at keeping pH levels where they should be. Cutting out the foods they ask is unlikely to affect your body’s pH levels. There hasn’t been any real research to prove that your body’s pH levels affects your weight anyway. The bottom line on this diet is it too strict, complicated and bans foods that have a healthy place in an eating plan.
