Mr. Mom (20th Century Fox, 1983)
Produced by Aaron Spelling (and Lynn Loring and Lauren Shuler), written by John Hughes, Mr. Mom starred Michael Keaton, Teri Garr, Jeffrey Tambor, Christopher Lloyd and Martin Moll. After a Detroit auto engineer loses his job, he is forced to trade places with his wife. She returns to the advertising world as an executive at a leading agency while he becomes a stay-at-home dad to their three children.
The success of Mr. Mom led Universal to sign Hughes to a three picture deal. The three films became Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Weird Science.
