Dolls (Empire, 1987)
Dolls was an Italian-American dark fantasy horror film directed by Stuart Gordon. It was written by Ed Naha. Dolls starred Stephen Lee, Anthony Perkins, Christopher Reeve, Guy Rolfe, Hilary Mason and Betsy Palmer. During a harsh thunderstorm, six people arrive at the mansion of an old puppet master and his wife. The puppet master’s puppets are cursed by immoral people that were killed and imprisoned in the puppet bodies in order to pay for their crimes. Made for $2 million, Dolls brought in $3.5 million worldwide. But labelled as a commercial failure, plans for a sequel were scrapped.
