Yes, you read that heading right — chlorophyll — yes the stuff that makes plants green. How was this a fad? Well at one time (during the 1950s) it was believed that chlorophyll eliminated bad smells so it was put into everything — foam insoles, toothpaste, gum, deodorant — if some one was making something, chlorophyll was put into it. The idea that chlorophyll is good for your health still persists. Chlorophyll products did sell well. Until the Journal of the American Medical Association published an article stating that grazing goats virtually live on grass and they smell bad. With that, most people got over it.
