Music to Massage Your Mate By (Ala, 1976)

Let’s examine this album cover. We have a couch. We have a woman laying down on her stomach on the couch. Sitting beside her massaging her neck or upper back is a man. There is a sticker in the right hand corner that says “explicitly illustrated instruction booklet enclosed.” We do not get a name of the artist (but has been credited to Robert J. Wotherspoon). A note on the back cover reads “continuous uninterrupted music.” Music to Massage Your Mate By was marketed as an instructional item complete with an erotic 8-page manual insert that provided you with light “seductive” jazz and bossa rhythms to definitely set the mood. There you go. (Who comes up with these things?)
