Unfaithful (2oth Century Fox, 2002)

Unfaithful was a 2002 American thriller/drama film based on the 1969 French film La femme infidele (The Unfaithful Wife). It starred Richard Gere, Diane Lane and Oliver Martinez. Lane stars as Connie Sumner, a bored wife. A chance meeting with a handsome stranger (Martinez) leads to flirting then more that eventually ends up jeopardizing her marriage to Edward (Gere).

Lane’s performance won much praise and earned her Best Actress awards from the National Society of Film Critics and New York Film Critics. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Actress. Unfaithful was produced for $50 million and brought in $120 million.
