The Man in the Raincoat Marion Marlowe (CBS, 1955)

Marion Marlowe was a singer actress born in St. Louis, Missouri. She first sang publicly at age 5 and had her own quarter-hour weekly radio program at age 9 (until age 13). She began vocal lessons at age 12 and studied at London’s Royal Conservatory. She is best known for her appearances on the TV variety show Arthur Godfrey and His Friends (1950-1955). In April 1955 she was fired from the show. She quickly moved on to Ed Sullivan’s show Toast of the Town. Her best known recording, The Man in the Raincoat hit #14 in the U.S. in 1955. She married television producer Larry Puck in May 1955. Marlowe died of natural causes in Tucson, Arizona on March 24, 2012 at age 83.
