Swing the Mood Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers (Indisc/BCM, 1990)
Produced by the father and son DJ team of Andy and John Pickles, Swing the Mood was a cut and paste record that fused early rock and roll records with Glenn Miller’s song In the Mood. Unsurprisingly, copyright issues caused a re-recorded version to be released. This version was panned but it still became a massive UK hit. Swing the Mood spent five weeks atop the UK charts. It reached #11 in the U.S. Swing the Mood was the 2nd best-selling single of 1989 in the UK behind Black Box’s Ride on Time. Swing the Mood was
certified Platinum in both Canada and the UK, and Gold in France and the U.S. Additionally, Swing the Mood topped the charts in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada’s adult contemporary chart (#16 on their Pop chart), Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway and Spain. It hit #2 in Switzerland and Sweden. Italy was the country least in love with it; it only peaked at #19 (still a top 20 hit though).
