Plasma Balls (popularized in the 1980s)

A Plasma ball is a clear glass sphere filled with a mixture of various noble gases and a high-voltage electrode in the center. Plasma filaments extend from the inner electrode to the outer glass insulator and gives the appearance of multiple constant beams of colored light. They first became popular as a novelty item in the 80s. These things are still cool!
