Cork Pop Guns (1970s)

Before parents were worried about every little thing, during the 1970s, they would buy their children “real” toy guns. One such incarnation were cork pop guns. When you shot it, the cork would pop out and (if you were close enough — and wasn’t that the whole point?) hit your assailant. Obviously, these toys posed an incredible safety hazard and the main reason why they ended up on a fad list.
