The Breeze and I (Andalucia) began life as an instrumental entitled Andalucia, composed by Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona. Emilio de Torre added Spanish lyrics. The English lyrics were written by Al Stillman.

In 1955 French-born Italian singer Caterina Valente released her version of The Breeze and I. It peaked at #5 in the UK and #13 in the U.S.
