Tennessee Mud Ice Cream (Ben & Jerry’s, 1988)
For a year, Ben & Jerry’s produced a chocolate ice cream called Tennessee Mud. The ice cream was a mix of coffee, amaretto and Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey and topped with toasted slivered almonds.
As is their custom, when Ben & Jerry’s “retires” a flavor, they place a headstone
in their factory graveyard. It is located on the hill behind their factory in Waterbury, Vermont. (Yes, you can tour it.)
