This Fire (Image, 1996)

This Fire was American singer-songwriter Paula Cole’s second album. Written and produced by Cole, it took her about 2 weeks to record! This Fire has been certified double Platinum, selling over 2 million albums in the U.S. This pop-rock album peaked at #20 on Billboard’s Album chart. This Fire was nominated for seven Grammy Awards in 1998. Cole won for Best New Artist.

Three singles were released: Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?, I Don’t Want to Wait and Me. Where Have All the Cowboys Gone? peaked at #8 on Billboard’s Hot 100 (#4 on the Adult Top 40 chart). I Don’t Want to Wait hit #11 and was the theme song for the teen drama TV series Dawson’s Creek. Me did not perform that well. It did peak at #17 on the Adult Top 40 chart, but was not released commercially and was, therefore, not eligible to chart on the Hot 100.

Additionally, a song from This Fire entitled Feelin Love was featured on the soundtrack to the film City of Angels (1998).
