Human Clay (Wind-Up, 1999)

Human Clay was American rock band Creed’s second album. It sold over 11.5 million copies in the U.S., over 20 million worldwide. It is Creed’s best-selling album and remains one of the best-selling albums in the U.S. Currently it is the 54th best-selling album in the U.S.

Human Clay debuted at #1 with sales of 315,000 in September 1999 and stayed there for two weeks. It was certified 11 times Platinum in the U.S., 6 times Platinum in Canada, 5 times Platinum in Australia, 7 times Platinum in New Zealand and 4 times Platinum in Switzerland. Human Clay was certified Gold in Austria, Germany, Sweden and the UK.

The singles: Higher went to #7 on the Hot 100 (#1 on the Mainstream Rock chart); What If hit #102 on the Hot 100 (#3 on the Mainstream Rock chart); With Arms Wide Open hit #1 on both the Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock charts and Are You Ready? hit #125 on the Hot 100 (#4 on the Mainstream Rock chart). In 2001, With Arms Wide Open won the boys of Creed a Grammy for Best Rock Song. It also topped Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart for 8 weeks.
