She’s So High Tal Bachman (Sony, 1999)
Talmage Charles Robert “Tal” Bachman is a Canadian singer-songwriter/musician from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Yes, he is the son of Randy Bachman and nephew of Robbie and Tim Bachman, all of Bachman-Turner Overdrive fame.
In 1999, Tal released his self-titled debut album. The pop rock single, She’s So High went to #1 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart, hit #3 on Canada’s RPM and Rock RPM charts, went to #8 in Australia and #9 in New Zealand. In the U.S., on the Hot 100, it peaked at #14. She’s So High won Tal a BMI Award for being “Song of the Year.”
In 2004, Tal released his sophomore album, Staring Down the Sun. In the 2005 film American Pie Presents: Band Camp, an instrumental of his song Aeroplane is used during the credits.
Currently, Tal works as a political commentator and plays rugby for Victoria’s (BC) Castaway Wanderers RFC team. He continued to perform sporadically.
