A Lover’s Holiday by Change (Warner Brothers, 1980)

A Lover’s Holiday was a dance/soul crossover from Change off the album The Glow of Love. The song spent nine weeks at number one on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart. It peaked at number four on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs chart and #40 on the Hot 100. This was their only single to have peaked in the Top 40.

Change was an Italian-American post-disco group that formed in Bologna, Italy by Jacques Fred Petrus and Mauro Malavasi and were influenced by the disco band, Chic.

Change was formed in 1979 as a studio band with a revolving cast of musicians. The Italian and American dual identity is reflected by their production system. The music was written and recorded in Italy. The backing tracks and vocals were added by American artists and were mixed in major American studios.
